This is the men’s Brooks Trace 2, a soft cushioned everyday road running shoe designed to be an affordable entry level running shoe that would suit newer runners that are not looking to invest in a much higher price point for features that they may not need. Despite the lower price, Brooks have still used their trademark BioMoGo DNA cushioning for a soft ride and a comfortable mesh upper that adapts to your feet whilst on the move.

Despite the temptation, newer runners may well not need the features of a running shoe that costs 50% more than the Trace 2. The Trace 2 would be great for newer runners looking to put in their first miles comfortably without breaking the bank. Newer runners tend to be heel strikers too, which the Trace 2 suits.
